Happy Halloween!

Today, our PIE (Partners In Excellence) Partners came. We made masks for Halloween and enjoyed a treat from them! The kids really enjoy having Angelique and Paige come to our classroom and do different activities with us.

Field Trip!!!

On Wednesday, our class went to the Prairie Heritage Center, near Peterson, Iowa. The kids had a great time and learned alot. We divided the day into four different sections. One section we learned about birds and discussed the wingspan of different birds! Our second section was about the different animals in the prairie hertiage center and we went on a scavenger hunt. Our third and fourth sections were outside. We played a game called predator/prey in the prairie grass and looked at different bones of buffalo. Then we went on a hike. Throughout our hike we had "boxes" to find, which had clues of a certain animal that we may see in the wild. The students loved using the clues to figure out the animal.

FUN FRIDAY!

2nd grade had a fun filled Friday! We started our day with a walk to the the Little Storm Lake Discovery Center to start our unit on animals! The kids really enjoyed this and saw evidence that animals had been there and saw some animals. To continue with our animal unit the BV County Naturalist, Katie was here to show us some animals. The students got to see turtles and snakes.

The conclusion of our day ended with the class filling their "bucket" of compliments and good behavior. Keep working hard 2nd grade!
